Hazelden Betty Ford's world renowned three (3) day family program returns to Newberg!

Families often feel overwhelmed and confused on how to help loved ones who are struggling with substance use. They are often at the point that they have tried everything to stop their person from using and are unaware of what to try next. You might be at a loss! You may be asking "how did this happen?!" or "how did we get here?!" and then wondering, "what do I do now?!" It is likely that you are unsure of where to turn. and have been given advice that doesn't seem to work or been told to "let them hit rock bottom" but are not sure what that means!

The Family Program was created to specifically serve family members, who have loved ones struggling with substance use disorder and/or co-occurring mental health concerns. You will be guided through evidence-based information and skills on substance use and mental health to apply to your unique situation to increase your confidence in supporting your person and family. You will learn how to support positive change and have an opportunity to learn and practice communication and boundary skills to order to plan for the unknowns in this recovery journey.

This program offers an opportunity to experience a valuable connection and skill-building practice while on the Newberg Hazelden Betty Ford campus.

  • Process your own emotions, thoughts and pain with others that understand!
  • Connect with other family members and recognize you are not alone!
  • Meet current patients (non-related), and hear from them about their treatment processes, challenges, and learnings
  • Gain insights and understanding that is often difficult to grasp when talking with your own loved one
  • Participate in visitation with your loved one daily (if applicable, 4:00 - 4:30 p.m.)

While it may not always feel like it, HOPE is possible!

There is NO cost associated with this program. Coffee, tea, lunch and snacks are provided.  Once registered for the program you will receive an email that will provide site specific information for the program.
